Getting to PCSA

Priory Community School, Academy Trust is located in Worle, on the north of the Queensway nearby the retail park. Many of our students get to and from school actively - walking, cycling, by bus or car-sharing. 

We want PCSA to be a fit and healthy school, making more sustainable journeys and contributing less to local congestion, so we’ve been working with North Somerset Council and Sustrans on the Active Travel to Schools Project to encourage sustainable travel.

Cycling

Students who cycle can leave their bikes in secure storage at the school. There are regular Dr Bike sessions, so pupils can get their bikes checked and simple repairs for free.

Car-Sharing

Some parents find it convenient to drop off/collect their children on their travels and are happy to car share with other families. It is a good way of reducing costs and congestion.

Active Travel to Schools Project

The Active Travel to Schools Project aims to get the whole school community working together to make the school journey sustainable, healthy and enjoyable for everyone. 'Active Travel' includes: 

  • Walking

  • Cycling

  • Scooting

  • Skating

  • Buses

  • Trains

  • Car shares

We want a fitter and happier school, with less local congestion, making more sustainable journeys. The project is run thanks to funding from the Travel West Local Sustainable Transport Fund and is running across North Somerset and other Local Authorities in the South West.
